THE GALLERY

The Gallery aims to foster the Visual Arts in the Bishop Alemany community, establish an artistic presence and identity, and provide the many talented and creative individuals in our community an opportunity to show their work.

The Gallery’s programming will exhibit work from the student body as well as calls for entries from the rest of the Alemany community. The shows will be up for about a month and will be open during and after school. (After school hours will be determined at a later date.)Themes for each show will be announced online, and anyone interested in submitting to the calls for entries will be asked to drop off their work by a certain date prior to the show’s installation.  The work must be submitted with a completed entry form which can be downloaded below. Submissions must meet specific requirements which will vary per show.  These requirements will be announced and explained prior to each call for entries, and all entries will go through a selection process.

Gallery News:
The Gallery is currently exhibiting "Thingness", a collection of works that attempted to explore the connections between objects and ideas.
This show consists of mixed media sculptures created by Mr. Crespo’s Sculpture class, and ceramic bisque ware created by Mr. Crespo’s and Mrs. Vilchis’ Ceramics classes.
The mixed media pieces are word sculptures that attempted to visually communicate onomatopoeias. The bisque ware dealt with the idea of modularity and attempted to find as many variations of sculptural form as possible from a limited set of modules.

This exhibit will be up through the rest of Summer and will be taken down August 31st.
