Bishop Alemany Honors Institute

The 2015 academic year sees the launch of the Bishop Alemany Honors Institute. The Honors Institute provides a rigorous and motivating program that will stretch and challenge the most advanced students. It provides a learning environment in which students reach their full potential.

Students enrolled in the Honors Institute study a discrete program of courses designed to prepare them for the most academically rigorous colleges in the world. They complete a range of AP courses, and all non-AP courses are taken at Honors level. Students complete a ‘blended’ Honors Institute Seminar program that culminates with the College Board’s AP Capstone Diploma.

The AP Capstone is an innovative diploma program that helps students stand out in the college application process. It is a challenging program that deepens a student’s passion for learning, enhances their academic skills, and provides a broader perspective on the world. Bishop Alemany High School is one of only two high schools in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles that has been selected by the College Board to offer this program.
