Another Warrior Honored As CIF Champion!
This past weekend at Cerritos College, senior Madeline Casanova was crowned the Division 3 Discus Champion.
Her throw of 135 feet 6 inches not only shattered her previous school record but earned her a top five spot in the Southern Section Masters Meet this Friday.
Great Job Maddie!
Warrior Water Polo Honors!
Erin Manke(12) traveled to UC Davis with 144 other young ladies that had previously qualified for their own USA Zone Teams in Water Polo. These 144 girls competed for a spot on the USA Women's Junior National Team. Erin played great and was selected to the team. for 09-10. She will now practice and train with the 33 girls selected to the USA Women's JNT in June for one of 13 spots on the Travel team that will go to the USA Worlds in Siberia in July. Prior to traveling to the world games, the team will train for 2 week in the Netherlands.

Alemany Alumnus Vincent “Marc” Rojas to Receive LAPD’s Medal of Valor
Office Rojas will receive LAPD’s highest honor on May 28th
The award is presented to police officers who distinguished themselves by conspicuous bravery or heroism above and beyond the normal demands of police service.

Friday Evening: Creating La Dolce Vita - Food Demo/Tasting/Book Signing at Borders
Chef and cookbook author Michele Carbone will bring her unique take on culinary happiness to the Thousand Oaks Borders. She will appear at the Thousand Oaks Borders, on Saturday, May 30th at 2:00 PM. Along with a book signing for Friday Evening: Creating La Dolce Vita, one bite at a time, she will also conduct a food demonstration and tasting, using simple recipes from her book.

Alumnus Earns Community Service Scholarship
Benjamin Beer ('04) This past December, 2008, Ben graduated from CSUN with a B.S. in Accounting. He was also given a scholarship award from his fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon, for outstanding achievements and community service. (This award is given to one person in the Southern California and Nevada region.)

This past weekend the home of one of our Bishop Alemany families was completely lost in the Sylmar fire. Two of our Alemany Students, Emily and Brian Padilla are left homeless, along with their parents and their grandparents. Alumni, YOU are an important part of the history of Bishop Alemany and we need your help! Alemany Alumn Earns LAFD Scholarship
Michael Rodriguez ('08) earned the scholarship because of his participation in many programs, including the National Honor Society and California Scholarship Federation. Michael also volunteered in his community, mentored incoming students at Alemany, and competed in water polo and swim.Michael is attend USC as a Computer Science/Engineering major.

"Remember when..." Alumni Podcast Created
Our first installment is a video of the original Bishop Alemany High School campus after the 1994 Northridge Earthquake, with narration by Br. Paul. The video was filmed less than 48 hours after the earthquake destroyed our campus (and it even includes a small aftershock). Thank you Br. Paul for having the foresight to film this historical event!

"Pieces" is a Filipino Culture Night (PCN) show--a theatrical show focused on the exposure and education of the Philippine culture through music, dance, and acting. Alemany Alumni - Matthew Siordia '05 - Honored for creating UCMerced’s Junior Bobcat Mentoring Program
Matthew received an award for meritorious service April 10, 2008 at the annual California Colleges and Universities Police Chief’s Association Award dinner in South Lake Tahoe. He earned this award for his service to the University of Merced’s Campus Security Officer Program, where he is Supervisor, and for helping to implement the UCMerced’s Junior Bobcat Mentoring Program for at-risk middle school students in the city of Merced.
Alemany Alumn - Jessica Manke ('06) - Helping Out Special Olympics
Jessica also works part time with the swimming students for the Special Olympics. She is one of few people in California that possess the certificate for adaptive swimming.
