Leading the way

Mr. Levan, Ms. Hise, and the 2013-2014 Christian Leaders have selected a new group of students to lead the school as a core faith campus institution: the 2014-2015 Christian Leadership. Christian Leadership has served as the main spiritual guidance group in the Alemany community, organizing all school masses and acting as advocates for service to the community and the world. The main mission of the Christian Leadership program is to help the students at Alemany recognize their influence in society and their power to bring about change that benefits those who most deserve it. Christian Leadership has sponsored many events that have provided multiple services to people, such as food drives, and even a service trip to Haiti where students worked to provide basic education to the children in the region. The most important job that Christian Leadership completes is encouraging their fellow peers to participate in Mass and other events that strengthen their faith.

The newly inducted Christian Leaders underwent an extensive application process to ensure that each individual Leader would be prepared to take on the responsibility and commitment of being a member of Christian Leadership. The application process was comprised of two portions: an application/essay combination, in which the students were asked to write about their own personal attributes and their own qualifications, and an interview portion.

The newly inducted members will soon choose their ministry from a list that includes the Eucharistic minister ministry and the lector ministry. The major duty of the new Leaders will be to organize and run the many religious affiliated clubs in the Alemany community, such as Pax Cristi and SADD. The new Leaders are excited to take on the responsibilities synonymous with leading the faith community by example and show that they have the courage, strength, and faith to represent their spirituality in their everyday life. The Alemany community is sure to be enriched by these young minds eager and enthusiastic to act as living examples of the gospel message of faith, hope, and love.
