On August 23, 2014, the Alemany Football Boosters kicked off their 2nd Annual BBQ fundraiser. 400 people attended this fun-filled event for all ages which included a jumper, mechanical bull, and a silent auction. The event started off with the blessing of the food by Mr. David Urbach, Alemany's Athletic Director. Mr. Chambers, Alemany's new principal, then proceeded with an speech to pique everyone's excitement for the upcoming football season. Attendees, which included football players, cheerleaders, the coaches, and their families, enjoyed catered food which consisted of barbecued chicken, ribs, and roast beef. The Alemany Varsity Cheerleaders and the Warrior Dance Team entertained the crowd with great performances. The silent auction featured a $10,000 grand prize.
The 2nd Annual Alemany Football Barbecue was a tremendous success and people cannot wait for next year's with more excitement to come. The barbecue kicks off the 2014 football season with the first game at the Father Milbauer Stadium against the Los Osos Grizzlies Friday, August 30, at 7pm.
