Welcome to the World Languages Department.
In keeping with the Catholic tradition of education at Bishop Alemany High School, we, the members of the Department of World Languages, dedicate ourselves to the development of the 5 C’s –Communication, Culture, Comparisons, Connections and Communities. Through the use of these standards we have developed a creative, dynamic foreign language program. With the understanding that language is the essential tool of communication, the emphasis of our program is on proficiency in the four modalities basic language learning skills. With this knowledge, students can gain a greater understanding of the world, and they can contribute to make the world a better place.
We hope to expand awareness of other cultures both on campus and in the broader community, encouraging an understanding of the diverse world in which we live. In addition, Bishop Alemany High School is a community of faith and education gathered together by the faith in God to nurture the mind, spirit, heart, body and imagination of our students.
