Faculty Professional Development Day (No Classes)

What
Faculty Professional Development Day (No Classes)
When
3/13/2020

Dear Alemany Families,

Bishop Alemany High School is aware of the need to make decisions about our educational program in the context of the increasing spread of Covid-19.  Our top priority is the health and well being of our students and our entire community.  The Archdiocese of Los Angeles, in compliance with Department of Health guidelines, is currently considering directives for its 26 Archdiocesan high schools (including Bishop Alemany). In the meantime, Bishop Alemany High School has prepared an Online Learning Plan to be enacted in the event that a school closure becomes necessary in the future. On Friday, March 13th, we will have a "pupil-free" day with no classes so the school can conduct a Professional Development Day for the faculty.  The focus of the day will be to review the school’s Online Learning Plan with the full faculty and ensure that all faculty members are ready and able to facilitate their courses if a decision is made to temporarily transition to a distance learning model.

Any decision to cancel classes at Bishop Alemany for any indefinite period of time due to the spread of Covid-19 will be made by the Archdiocese.  Thus, the Professional Development Day may be a review of a plan that will never be enacted.  Conversely, it may be a plan that is enacted soon.  In the event that we are required to close the school, we would like our faculty to be fully prepared to leverage all of the technology necessary to ensure a quality delivery of the same content they would have received if they were present here at the school

Thank you for your patience and please continue to check the Health and Safety Updates page for updated information.

May God bless you and your families and the entire Bishop Alemany community as we navigate this difficult situation together.

Sincerely,

Bishop Alemany HIgh School
