1. BISHOP ALEMANY HIGH SCHOOL TUITION ASSISTANCE (FACTS Grant and Aid)
Bishop Alemany offers tuition assistance directly, based on financial need to current and incoming families. Alemany’s Tuition Assistance program has a two-fold purpose: to provide students an opportunity for a Catholic education which might otherwise be inaccessible for them and to provide the school with a well-qualified student body reflecting economic diversity. The Bishop Alemany Tuition Assistance Committee reviews the initial application and the FACTS Grant & Aid calculation. Final aid decisions are always based on the Committee’s assessment of an applicant’s needs and the budgeted funds available. Unfortunately, there is always a greater demand for aid than there are resources. Information reviewed by the Tuition Assistance Committee and discussions with committee meetings are strictly confidential and personal information is restricted to committee members only.
Goals of the Tuition Assistance Program (FACTS) at Bishop Alemany High School:
-To bring to Bishop Alemany High School Catholic students who could not otherwise attend for financial reasons, who will strengthen the student body, and who are seen as HIGH PRIORITIES IN MEETING the School’s enrollment goals.
-To enhance the mission statement of the school, which states as a Catholic High School, Bishop Alemany is a community enriched by faith that develops intellectually prepared men and women who are committed to promoting a just and peaceful world as conscientious and morally courageous leaders in service to others. We also strive to develop a student body of academic excellence, confidence, diversity, high ethical values, and leadership.
-To support continuing students by providing temporary emergency tuition aid (when funds are available) to current Bishop Alemany High School families who experience unexpected financial reversals in the course of a particular academic year.
ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS ONLY
General application period for all students begins November 1, 2018. FINANCIAL AID APPLICANT PRIORITY DEADLINE IS JANUARY 25, 2019.
Families must reapply for tuition assistance every year in order to evaluate financial need.
The school’s TUITION ASSISTANCE is per student based on family financial need in addition to student academics (maintaining a minimum of 2.0 GPA), conduct and leadership. The administration determines the maximum award based on the number of applicants and funds available, with award decisions available beginning in March, 2019. The applications are managed through FACTS Grant and Aid.

2. CATHOLIC EDUCATION FOUNDATION (CEF) TUITION ASSISTANCE
NEW STUDENTS OR THOSE NOT CURRENTLY RECEIVING TUITION ASSISTANCE FROM CEF:
CEF has specific income guidelines to apply for assistance, so please check and make sure you qualify based on your income before you apply (see income guidelines below.) CEF will not approve any applications where the family income exceeds CEF guidelines. Please bring the completed application (see below), and all required documents (see below) to your appointment with CEF (which you make following the instructions, below), to meet with the CEF representative on Wednesday. November 28, 2018. You will receive a decision from CEF sometime in March, 2019, regarding your application.
IF YOUR STUDENT CURRENTLY ATTENDS BAHS AND YOU CURRENTLY RECEIVE TUITION ASSISTANCE FROM CEF:
Your application paperwork has been mailed to you. Please complete the paperwork that was mailed to you and please show up at your appointment time (which you make following the instructions, below) to meet with the CEF representatives on Wednesday, November 28, 2018. You will receive a decision from CEF sometime in March, 2019, regarding your application.
Representatives from CEF will be on the Alemany campus on Wednesday, November 28, 2018. Appointments are required in order to meet with a representative from CEF.
You must make an appointment with CEF using their on-line appointment system. Appointments at Bishop Alemany High School are ONLY available for Wednesday, November 28, 2018, from 2 pm to 7 pm. Please see the complete instructions for making your appointment, below:

Below is a walk through of how parents can setup their appointments with CEF via our new Online System.
Cycle 2 Applicants: Current/prospective High School Students: Please setup appointments only at your current/prospective High School. If you cannot attend/miss the scheduled time or date, please contact your High School directly for other options. Please DO NOT setup an appointment at a school where your student is not currently attending or intending to attend. Siblings who attend different High Schools must apply at their respective High Schools at separate appointments.
Cycle 1 Incoming 9th Graders (Current 8th Grade Awardees Only): Please setup an appointment at the CEF High School of your choice. Students may attend their appointment at any CEF OnSite Location to turn in their Cycle 1 application.
PLEASE NOTE; If you do not meet with the CEF representative for your live interview on our campus, your completed application and all supporting documents must be returned to the Alemany tuition office before Friday, December 14, 2018, at 2:00 pm. No late application will be accepted after that date. CEF does not accept late applications.
