Academic Curriculum and Requirements

From the first day a student steps into one of our classes to the day he or she proudly walks across the stage at graduation to receive a diploma, Bishop Alemany students will be inspired by excellence and empowered to succeed.
Our graduation requirements are structured to ensure that every Alemany student has the opportunity to meet and exceed the entrance requirements of all types of colleges and universities, ranging from the most selective universities to our fine local institutions.
Basic Graduation Requirements
Students must complete a total of 240 credits from the following subject areas:
- English
- Foreign Language
- History / Social Studies
- Mathematics
- Physical Education
- Religion
- Science
- Visual & Performing Arts
- College Prep Electives
***5 credits per semester***
Honors & Advanced Placement Program
In order to challenge our students, we have an extensive selection of Honors and AP courses, including:
- 22 Advanced Placement courses
- 16 Honors courses
***Students will no longer have an Honors Religion class, instead all students will have an opportunity to get Honors credit through their regular Religion class.***
