INTRODUCTION
Have you ever wondered how the Supreme Court makes their decisions on cases presented to them? What are the responsibilities of the Supreme Court? How do the opinions issued by the Supreme Court affect American society? How do cases get presented to the Supreme Court? How does a Supreme Court justice obtain that position? These questions and more will be answered during the completion of this assignment.
TASK
The completion of this assignment will involve a combination of individual work and group work. The use of word processing will be necessary to complete individual/group work on this assignment. Each individual will produce a document that includes
individual work and group work.

• Do you believe that the United States provides “liberty and justice for all”? How so or how not?
• Would you consider being a Supreme Court justice? Why or why not?
• Explain the process for becoming a Supreme Court justice.

PROCESS
• Partners/Pairs will be formed.
• Pairs will be assigned a specific time frame to research the history of the Supreme Court Chief Justices.
• Pairs will choose a court case from the list provided in this assignment. Other Supreme Court cases may be chosen but they must receive instructor approval before beginning research.
• Conduct research for both the individual assignment and pair assignment.
• Each pair will present a PowerPoint Presentation on their research.
• Each member will provide an assenting or dissenting opinion about their specific case and discuss how they reached this decision.
