Course Description
HONORS CHEMISTRY A and B
Open to Honors students who are enrolled in Honors Algebra II in the fall with grades of “A “in all attempted math courses. Additionally, students must receive departmental approval to enroll in the summer class.
Course content includes mathematical methods, chemical nomenclature, chemical reactions, the mole concept, stoichiometry, atomic structure, bonding, molecular geometry, solutions, and gas laws. Laboratory experiments are an integral component to Honors Chemistry and students who successfully complete the course will be prepared to pursue Advanced Placement science courses.
Textbook: Chemistry-The Central Science (Brown, LeMay, Bursten) 11th Edition.
Required Materials
3-ring binder, pencil, eraser, scientific calculator, and textbook.
