Good Evening Alemany Families,

 

Tomorrow Monday, April 15, students will follow a Friday (grey) Bell Schedule. The school day will start as normal and end at 1:35 p.m. All school offices will close at 1:40 p.m. for a Faculty and Staff meeting.

 

The Alemany Robotics team emerged victorious over 37 other teams at the Aerospace Valley Regional held from April 4th to 6th during spring break. In a thrilling best-of-three match final, the RoboWarriors and their alliance triumphed over Harvard-Westlake and their alliance. The finals were so intense that they extended to four matches because of a tie and the RoboWarriors won the deciding 4th and thrilling match 91-82. This victory secured a spot for the team in the World Championships scheduled from April 17 to April 20 in Houston, Texas. Best of luck to the RoboWarriors!

This Tuesday, April 16, the Valley Bureau of the Los Angeles Board of Police Commissioners will host their Community Commission Meeting at Alemany from 6 to 8 p.m. in Alumni Hall. While there is no specific information about our school, we encourage all who are interested to attend this meeting.  

 

This week our students will be celebrating Mass in the Our Lady of Angels Chapel as a class. On Tuesday, April 16, the Freshman class will attend during period 2 and the Senior class will attend during period 3. Wednesday, April 17, the Sophomore class will attend during period 6 and the Junior class will attend during period 1. Students are required to wear their formal dress uniform on their assigned Mass day.

 

We are the Champions! Alemany is looking forward to celebrating our Boys Basketball State Championship this Wednesday, April 17 at a special all-School Pep Rally with our Faculty, Staff, team, students, and specially invited guests. To help celebrate this occasion we will have Limited Edition shirts available for sale. Visit the Tuition Office Monday or Tuesday from 7 am to 8 am, at nutrition or lunch, or after school before 3 pm to purchase the shirts for $25.00 and then pick up your shirt in the Front Office. Sizes are limited, first come first served. Students are encouraged to but not required to wear their shirts to school with jeans or uniform bottoms on the day of the Pep Rally. 

 

Dr. Rynerson and Dr. Galla will host Coffee with the Principal and President this Wednesday April 17 at 8 am in Alumni Hall. 

The Alemany Theatre Department proudly presents the Spring Musical. Once Upon a Mattress is an uproarious retelling of the famous fairytale "The Princess and the Pea". From a mute King, an overbearing Queen, a Prince who needs a bride, to a Princess who swam the moat, this play has it all. Alemany Cheer will be hosting tryouts for the 2024-2025 school year, the week of April 22. The clinic to learn the material will be April 22-25 from 3:30-5:30 PM in the dance studio. The tryout will be on Friday, April 26 starting at 2:30 PM. Summer School registration is now open for the 2024 summer session. All registration forms and information regarding course offerings, pricing, and the summer school schedule are listed on the Bishop Alemany website here. Students are encouraged to register as soon as possible to secure their slots. Early registration pricing ends Tuesday, April 30, 2024. In honor of Earth Day, Girl Up USA is hosting a shoreline cleanup event, ALEMANY Girl Up: Heal Our Planet, at SANTA MONICA on April 20th from 10 am - 12 pm. We invite all community members to join our Heal Our Planet effort, a nationwide movement to create a cleaner ocean and world! Please arrive promptly at the start of the event and be sure to bring a reusable water bottle and sunscreen. All cleanup supplies will be provided. Join us North of the Santa Monica Pier near Tower 1550. Students will receive up to 2 Christian Service Hours for their time and dedication to clean our shore. Reserve your spot here.
