Week of March 8, 2021
Good Evening Alemany Families,
Tomorrow, Monday, March 8 marks the start of quarter assessment week. Students will have tests, projects, or presentations in many of their classes, allowing teachers to evaluate and mark the end of the 3rd quarter.
This Thursday, March 11 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Raffle Ticket Packets will be available for pick up outside of the Main Office. One representative per family will be allowed to pick up their packet of raffle tickets, as each family must sign for receipt of their own tickets. Each family will be provided four books of 40 total tickets, worth a value of $200. Thank you for your support with this fundraiser! For further information, please visit www.alemany.org, email email@example.com or contact the Advancement Office at (818) 837-5375.
This Wednesday, March 10 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., please join us for our Lenten Food Drive. This event is sponsored by the Pax Christi Club and Key Club, in conjunction with Meet Each Need with Dignity (MEND). Freshmen are asked to donate canned fruit and 1-2 pound bags of rice. Sophomores are asked to donate pasta and pasta sauce. Juniors are asked to donate canned vegetables and canned meat (either tuna, chicken, or chili). Seniors are asked to donate peanut butter and almond butter. This is a great opportunity to earn Christian Service Hours! This drive-through, contactless event will take place in front of the chapel. For more information, please visit the Alemany website and your student’s MobileServe app.
The Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Club would like to invite you to a call of almsgiving. Throughout Lent, our community traditionally takes part in the CRS Rice Bowl Collection. This is where we collect money in cardboard boxes that are handed out in students’ religion classes. All proceeds are donated to CRS to fund campaigns to feed those who are living in poverty. Due to the current pandemic, you can donate toward this cause through an online donation at crsricebowl.org. Every $10 donation will be credited one Christian Service Hour. Be sure your student takes a screenshot of the donation receipt and posts it in their MobileServe app to obtain credit. Thank you for your generosity!
Please join the Alemany Parent Association for their monthly meeting taking place this Tuesday, March 9 at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom. The Parent Association is a great opportunity to obtain important updates from school administration, learn about upcoming events and get involved in your student’s education! Zoom information can be found on the Parent Association webpage. If you would like additional information on how you can get involved, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
In response to the need for blood in our community and the desire to help our students participate in more community service activities, the Alemany Parent Association is asking for your support and participation in our upcoming blood drive. Besides encouraging your son or daughter (if they’re eligible) to donate blood at our upcoming blood drive on Tuesday, April 20 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., we are inviting you to donate blood, as well. Please check the Parent Association webpage for additional information.
The Yearbook staff needs your help putting together the 2020-2021 yearbook! Please check the Alemany Instagram to stay updated on photos that you can send to email@example.com! We need pet photos, virtual celebration photos, and much more!

Bishop Alemany High School will offer the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT 10) on Thursday, March 18 to all 10th grade students and the PSAT 9 on Thursday, March 25 to all 9th grade students. Both tests will be administered on campus following all health and safety protocols. The PSAT is a valuable testing tool that prepares students for the SAT. Student scores can be an excellent predictor of how the student will score on the SAT and it gives students access to personalized SAT prep via the College Board. Further details about the tests will be sent in future emails.
This summer KidzToPros STEM, Arts and Sports Camps will host their summer programs on the campus of Bishop Alemany High School. The camps provide summer opportunities for students to continue developing mental and physical skills, while learning the values of teamwork and sportsmanship. Interested families may register at www.kidztopros.com and enter code FLY100 during checkout to receive a limited time $100 off each camp.
If you would like to view the text of the important school announcements that we send out, such as this one, please visit our new “Weekly Announcements” link which appears under the “About Us” homepage dropdown and on the My Alemany homepage link.
Due to continued COVID restrictions, the front office is open from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. This ensures that we maintain proper staffing and social distancing, while still accommodating you for any in-person needs.
Given the fluidity of events, we encourage you to routinely check the school calendar on alemany.org for updates.
May God bless you and your family in the week ahead.
