Testing: PSAT/SAT/ACT

TESTING

Students planning on attending a four year college or university usually must take one of the standardized admission tests: the SAT or ACT.

The best preparation for these tests is long term effort to be a good student. Reading is essential, as is careful thought. Much of what is tested reflects an accumulation of learning over the student's life, not a specific set of facts that can be memorized with last minute cramming.

Bishop Alemany supports all students by administering the following exams:

  • EXPLORE for Freshmen: This test is part of the ACT program of standardized testing
  • PLAN for Sophomores: This test is also part of the ACT program of standardized testing
  • PSAT for Juniors: This test is a practice version of the SAT

As further support for student success, an SAT preparation course is offered each semester by an experienced Alemany faculty member.
