Dear Bishop Alemany Families,

Progress Reports-Parent Portal on Aeries
Progress Reports are now available in the Parent Portal on Aeries. These reports serve as a snapshot of how students are doing at the five-week mark of the semester. This is a valuable time to review progress and make any needed adjustments to study habits, organization, or time management while there is still plenty of time in the term.
As always, detailed grade information is available in Canvas. We strongly encourage families to be set up as Canvas Observers. This allows you to see assignments, deadlines, and feedback, and to support your student in a consistent and informed way.
As parents of high school students, one of the most helpful approaches is to guide without taking over. Invite your student to share how things are going and what their plan is moving forward. Encourage practical next steps such as attending after-school tutoring with teachers, creating a simple study plan, or breaking larger projects into smaller, manageable pieces. Small adjustments now can make a meaningful difference by the end of the semester.

Counseling Presentation rescheduled for Tuesday, February 24
We are grateful to Ms. Maria White, Director of Counseling here at Bishop Alemany, and to the entire Counseling Office for having prepared a very informative and helpful presentation for parents and guardians entitled “Finding the Balance”. The presentation's focus will be on sharing practical ways to support our high school students with managing academics and extracurricular activities in a healthy, balanced way. The presentation will be from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. in Alumni Hall; all parents and guardians are welcome!

Sacrament of Reconciliation
As we enter the holy season of Lent, our students will have a special opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation during their Religion classes this week. This meaningful sacrament invites students to pause, reflect, and experience God’s mercy and forgiveness as they prepare their hearts for Easter. To help make this a prayerful and supportive experience, several priests will be on campus to guide students through reflection, prayer, and renewal. Confessions will be heard according to the following schedule: Tuesday, Feb. 24, during Periods 2 and 3; Wednesday, Feb. 25, during Periods 6 and 1; and Thursday, Feb. 26, during Periods 4 and 5. We encourage families to continue conversations at home about the importance of reconciliation and the blessings of this Lenten season.

Message from the Deans
Thank you for your continued partnership and support in improving student attendance. With your help, we have seen an incredible 75% decrease in tardies! This improvement has reduced classroom disruptions and created a more positive, focused start to each school day. When students arrive on time, they are better prepared and ready to learn.

As we continue through the school year, we appreciate your help in reinforcing two important expectations:

  • Dress Code: Students should follow the school dress code daily to help maintain a respectful, distraction-free learning environment.
  • Cell Phones & Devices: Cell phones may not be used during class, and personal devices should not be used for non-educational purposes during the school day to ensure students stay engaged.

Please take a moment each morning to remind your child of these expectations. Your support at home makes a meaningful difference in maintaining a safe, respectful, and productive school environment.
