https://www.instagram.com/bahs_music/

The Chamber Orchestra is made up of students who play violin, viola, cello and contrabass. Students must have at least 2 years of experience.  This group is designed to offer high school string musicians the opportunity to make and study quality music within a string ensemble setting. Fieldtrips include touring different universities and performing in college clinics.

Advanced Orchestra

Some of the composers studied include Bach, Tchaikovsky, BeethovenMozart, Corelli, John Williams, Vivaldi, Greig, as well as traditional folk and fiddle music.

String Orchestra meets during the day and meets the A - G subject requirement for fine arts.
Incoming students may be asked to audition.
Many studies have shown that students in band and orchestra score higher on standardized tests. Recently the Texas Music Educators Association monitored test scores for a number of years and music students consistently scored higher than non-music students on the SAT exam.
