Art & Artists

Art and Artist is a beginning level visual art class that includes learning about the Element of Art and the history of art by examining the work of artists from a variety of time periods and cultures.  Students will create works of art basic on the several artists, including the abstract work of Stella, Kaminsky and Picasso, as well as the realist drawing of the Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance movement to the Impressionist paintings. Students will also explore work of the Native American culture and Asian art.  At the end of each art project student will write a reflection of their art work showing their knowledge of artist, art history and art terms.  Students will have the opportunity to display their art in the annual student Art Exhibit.
